Part 2
Xia Xiaomiao: "No problem, wait for me, I'll be there right away."
Xia Xiaomiao: "Oh, by the way, have you had breakfast? I'll bring it over to you. Oh, send me the location, Xiaomiao is coming!"
Bai He replied to Xia Xiaomiao one by one, then sent the location to him, leaning back and staring blankly, not thinking of anything, just feeling the sense of being cared for, which seemed so unreal to him. He hadn't felt this way for a long time, and his heart felt a little stuffy.
Xia Xiaomiao arrived at the hospital in less than half an hour, carrying a fruit basket, and the alpha behind him was carrying many get-well gifts.
"Your leg is in a protective device?! And there are bandages on your arms and body?!" Xia Xiaomiao stood at the door, eyes wide with surprise. He quickly walked to the bedside: "What happened, little Bai He?"
Bai He gave a bitter smile: "Fell from the second floor, but I'm fine now."
"Fell from the second floor??" Xia Xiaomiao was shocked. "And you call this fine? Little Bai He, you have to be more careful with yourself!"
"I'm sorry..." Bai He apologized subconsciously.
Xia Xiaomiao was amused by his dejected expression. He pulled a chair and sat down in front of the bed. "What are you apologizing for? I'm not criticizing you. Your expression is just like some of my students who made mistakes."
He then placed the fruit basket on the side, and the alpha behind him also put the get-well gifts there. Xia Xiaomiao introduced them to each other: "This is my boyfriend Jiang Rong. Jiang Ge, this is the Bai He I told you about, the one renting our house."
Jiang Rong smiled and nodded, "Hello."
"Hello," Bai He responded with a nod.
After the greetings, Bai He told Xia Xiaomiao in detail about the trouble he wanted to ask him for, and then said, "Sorry, I didn't ask if you and your boyfriend could keep a pet at home before. I just went ahead and raised a cat."
"No problem, hehe, you know, I used to have a pet too, even a giant dog," Xia Xiaomiao smiled sweetly, looking at Jiang Rong, and took the key Bai He handed him, getting up and gently patting Bai He's head: "Okay, you just focus on recovering. The Maine Coon cat at home is in our hands now."
"Thank you," Bai He was truly grateful to them, and he thought he must treat them to a meal later.
After watching the two leave, the ward became quiet again, and the place seemed to have become empty and desolate. That slight withdrawal symptom surged up again and then dissipated. Bai He heard a familiar voice outside, and turned his head towards the slightly ajar door, catching a glimpse of the alpha leaning on a crutch.
Bai He's heart sank.
He clearly knew that before his fall, he was still quite a distance from the balcony, but after encountering the protagonist attacker and the protagonist victim, the fall had occurred. He couldn't be sure if there was anything in between, but he still suspected that this was the trigger that had supplemented the plot that was missing from the original owner's home - the part where he didn't fall from the second floor.
It seemed that the plot was forcibly making him carry out the original owner's plot. If there was any triggering mechanism, it was probably by approaching the protagonist.
The person who just passed by was obviously the protagonist attacker, and Bai He's heart sank. If Bai Lu was also around, something might happen to him again.
Bai He looked at his leg still in the protective device, frowning. He couldn't get hurt again.
Absentmindedly, another figure flashed past the door, and Bai He's eyelashes trembled, recalling something. Without going through his brain, he unconsciously called out.
"Qin Yao."
His voice was not too loud, but it was clear and powerful, standing out distinctly in the empty ward. He waited quietly for a few seconds, only a moment, and a hand pushed open the half-closed door.
Qin Yao's face, with a shallow smile, appeared in Bai He's line of sight: "You called me?"
Bai He was dazed by Qin Yao's smile, and after a moment of hesitation, he lowered his voice: "Can you... take me outside?"
Bai He didn't know why he had called out to Qin Yao, nor did he know why he had asked him for help. After all, he and Qin Yao were not really friends, they had only met a few times.
"Put your hand on my shoulder," Qin Yao went outside to find a wheelchair, and said to the dazed Bai He, "I'll carry you to the wheelchair. I asked the doctor, and they said I can take you out."
Bai He was stunned, raising his head and obediently placing his hand on Qin Yao's shoulder.
Qin Yao smiled, bending down and easily lifting Bai He up, as he had expected, Bai He was very light, light enough for him to pick up with one hand.
Bai He sat in the wheelchair, slowly adjusting the position of his left leg, a fine sweat appearing on his face.
"Does it hurt?" Qin Yao squatted down to help him adjust his left leg. "Is this better?"
"Mm, much better." Bai He thanked him, then thought for a moment. "Are you busy? Won't I be bothering you?"
"Not busy, it's fine, I'll take you downstairs first." Qin Yao thought: he actually came to the hospital just to see Bai He.
He had just gotten the accurate information about Bai He's location in the hospital and rushed over. Coincidentally, he ran into the limping Guan Jiaye on the way. He originally wanted to go upstairs and mock Guan Jiaye a bit, but halfway there, he was called by Bai He.
He wasn't sure why Bai He had called him, but maybe their few previous encounters had left Bai He with a somewhat good impression of him. The fact that Bai He had asked him for help in this situation might even mean that Bai He's impression of him was not bad.
Pushing the wheelchair and walking outside, Qin Yao's smile became even brighter, his mood excellent.
"How's your leg?" Qin Yao asked Bai He.
"It's fine now," Bai He, facing the outdoor sunlight, had a faint warmth on his face, softening his pale expression.
Arriving at the back of the hospital, Qin Yao pushed Bai He around in the park, stopping under a tree. Dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves and fell on their faces. Bai He looked up at Qin Yao: "Thank you, you can just leave me here."
Qin Yao raised his eyebrows: "How will you get back if I leave?"
Bai He fell silent, then slowly shook his head, and finally said, "I can find someone to help."
"Like you called me just now?" Qin Yao bent down to look into Bai He's eyes. "Since you know me, don't call anyone else."
Bai He was taken aback.
"I came to the hospital to find someone." Qin Yao waved his phone. "Whenever you want to go back, just send me a message."
Bai He lowered his gaze and opened his phone, finding a friend request that had been lingering there for a long time.
The request time...
Was the day of the transfer. Bai He understood, and accepted the friend request. The other side immediately sent a cat head emoticon.
Insomniac: [Hello.jpg]
Two seconds later.
Insomniac: [Wait for me.]
