His Pheromone Smells Like Catnip Chapter 6 part 1

 Chapter 6 part 1

Bai He was awakened by people touching him. He opened his eyes, and a few people in white coats were standing around him. He guessed they were probably doctors.

He didn't hear clearly what the doctors were saying, and he only regained consciousness for a moment before falling asleep again.

He had fallen from the second floor, the location being the main teaching building of the school. He passed by the balcony where safety railings were being repaired. He tried to stay far away because there were too many students leaving their classes, but he still got very close to the balcony. Just as he was about to leave this dangerous place, he saw two people in the distance.

It was Bai Lu, and a tall male student leaning on a crutch, who seemed to be an alpha. The two appeared to be arguing, but soon Bai Lu's eyes reddened, and the alpha leaning on the crutch became flustered.

Seeing this, Bai He's eyebrows involuntarily jumped twice, and a foreboding premonition crept up his numb brain. He subconsciously quickened his pace to leave, but the crowd suddenly surged, and he was unexpectedly pushed off the balcony.

Pain, dizziness, accompanied by screams from all directions, and then Bai Lu's particularly heartbroken voice.

Bai He really wanted him to stop crying, but he was in too much pain to open his mouth. His body was in great pain, and his brain was throbbing unbearably. Amid the clamorous and ear-piercing noises around him, he finally couldn't bear it and fainted.

When he woke up again, it was a dark night. Bai He lay on a hospital bed, the ward completely silent. He was the only one there.

He saw his left leg in a protective device, and his left and right arms wrapped in bandages. The second floor was not high, and there were shrubs trimmed down to just branches below. He had fallen right onto those sharp branches, cutting his body in several places.

Bai He moved his fingers and with great difficulty reached for the water glass on the bedside table. After much effort, he finally reached it, only to find it was empty, feeling extremely disappointed.

He disliked this feeling, this loneliness and desolation similar to withdrawal, which made his heart very uncomfortable. But he should not have had such emotions now; he should have been used to being alone.

Bai He quickly adjusted his state. He put the empty water glass back on the table and reached for the phone next to it. The phone had only about 10% battery left and was already showing red. He checked the time - it was 4 am. From the day he fell from the second floor until now, three days had passed.

Bai He felt uneasy. He couldn't stop feeling distressed thinking about Ling Ling being alone at home for three days. He had just made up his mind to take responsibility for Ling Ling, but ended up leaving him alone at home for several days.

He didn't know if the water and cat food he had left for Ling Ling were enough. Bai He pressed his lips tight, and his leg occasionally throbbed with pain. He couldn't move much, and a fine sweat gradually appeared on his face. He didn't fall asleep again until a nurse came to the ward in the morning.

"When can I be discharged?" Bai He asked the nurse, a female beta who was doing the checkup. Hearing his question, the nurse looked a bit helpless: "Your leg will have to stay in the hospital for at least a week."

"That long?" Bai He's disappointment was hard to conceal.

"Normally a fracture wouldn't be a big deal," the nurse placed her hands on her hips. "If you were an alpha, you might have been well in a day. But for an omega, it takes a long time to recover from a fracture."

"I'm not an omega," Bai He said. "Can I be discharged early?"

"You're not an omega?" The nurse blinked, with a strange expression on her face. "That's strange, your physique is so poor, I thought you were an omega. The hospital didn't give you a gender check-up, did they?"

"The little omega who brought him in that day said he was a beta, so we didn't do any check-up since we knew his gender," a slightly older nurse who just came in said, taking the record book from the younger nurse and glancing down at Bai He. "You'd better not think about an early discharge, just focus on recovering. I've never seen a beta with such a poor physique."

Bai He nodded dejectedly. The younger nurse went out and came back with breakfast for him.

"Thank you," Bai He took the breakfast and had a sip of soybean milk, then looked up. "How much is this? I'll transfer it to you."

The young nurse was struggling to bite into the dry crullers, and quickly shook her head when Bai He said that. "No need, no need, this is included in your hospitalization fees. Your omega father said he has no time to take care of you, so I'll be staying with you during this period. If I'm not here, just press the call button and I'll come right away."

Bai He frowned slightly, pausing for a moment before nodding in gratitude.

The young nurse went busy, and before leaving, she found a charger for Bai He. Bai He turned on his phone and found Xia Xiaomiao, hesitating for a while before sending him a message.

The other side almost immediately responded with a voice message.

Xia Xiaomiao: "What's the matter?"

Bai He pondered for a moment and typed.

Death: [Xiaomiao, I want to ask you a favor, and I won't let you do it for free.]

The other side was silent for a few seconds, then sent two more voice messages.

Xia Xiaomiao: "Little Bai He, why are you so polite to me all of a sudden?"

Xia Xiaomiao: "We're already friends, right? Friends don't need to be so careful with each other. Just tell me what's wrong, I'm more than happy to help."

Hearing Xia Xiaomiao's voice messages, Bai He's heart was warmed. He didn't notice that a subtle touch of grievance had flashed across his face for just a moment.

He told Xia Xiaomiao that he was in the hospital, and that he had a Maine Coon cat at home with no one to take care of it. The only key was on him, so he wanted to ask Xia Xiaomiao to come to the hospital to get the key and go home to check on Ling Ling.

As soon as the message was sent, Xia Xiaomiao's messages kept coming.

Xia Xiaomiao: "You're in the hospital?!"

Xia Xiaomiao: "What happened to you? Are you alright?"
